The Platypus Pro Series bolts up to the tow hook eye that is hidden on your bumper. This front license plate holder completely eliminates the need for you to ever drill into a brand new car or aero kit. This tow bolt mounted plate is also easily removable for track days and shows; it takes less than 5 minutes to install, and about the same to take it off again. This is true American made stuff, and will last forever! The stud is anodized 6061 aluminum, making it plenty strong but still softer than the frame of the vehicle so that it cannot damage the threading. The studs for our plate mount are designed a few thousandths oversized so that they do not vibrate loose, and you will want (NEED!) tools to install it. The plate backing is 12 gauge steel that is treated and powder coated to prevent rust and color fading. It has enough thickness to make it completely solid (ordinary humans cannot bend the plate backing with by hand), but once installed you will be able to adjust the angle of the tab with just your hands, when you can use the vehicle for leverage. The included hardware is all stainless steel, with button heads for a clean look once installed. NOTE: The included hardware is just the right length for a plate, and not long enough to also mount a plate frame.
